SMA was founded in 1932 by 17 pioneering manufacturers with the objective of representing the interests of Singapore manufacturers. With a membership of over 2,800 corporate members that range from MNCs to SMEs, SMa carries out a myriad of activities that aim to enhance the competitive edge of its members.
Regular activities organised by SMa include business matching events, trade missions, networking sessions, forums, conferences, seminars and workshops and dialogues with government agencies.
How did QLBS.com help?
The Problem:Singapore ’s Economic Development Ministry (SPRING Singapore ) appointed SMa as one of the country’s two pioneer Economic Development Centres (EDC). The EDCs provided all SME support functions. A primary service was business diagnostics. An extensive search by SMa found QLBS.com provided the best platform to be scaled over a long period of time. Key benefits included cross-industry capability, benchmarking and analysis and automatic report generation.
The Solution: We worked with SMa to develop a business diagnostic services program using Q100 software and QFitness criteria.
The Result: SMa is gradually expanding the program and expects to hit a target of 2000 support diagnostics by end of FY2006. An extension platform WebQ is being discussed for web based self assessment services to cope with demand.
“I want to thank you again on behalf of everyone at EDC@SMa. I am sure this is the start of good things between QLBS.com and EDC@SMa and I look forward to them all.”
