City of San Jose improving performance of its Small Business Community & Nonprofit organizations

sanjose

The City of San Jose's Office of Economic Development (OED) is committed to a vital, competitive San Jose economy that increases prosperity for people and companies and enhances City revenues.

City of San Jose and QLBS are working together to develop a long-term program using Q LBS technology to engage and improve performance of the San Jose business communities and Nonprofit Organizations.

Initially QLBS facilitated a Business Community Workshop and a Nonprofit Workshop to focus on city’s two key sectors. The workshop engaged 15-20 businesses or nonprofit organizations respectively. The groups were guided through a self assessment process to profile organization’s areas of strengths and weaknesses. Each group had specific set of question providing identification of issues and concerns of these organizations. This resulted in a detailed numerical and graphical picture of the organizations’ risk profile, and provided them a feedback report to act as a roadmap for taking action against a prioritized list of constraints to growth. The City of San Jose received an analysis benchmarking report which enabled identification of issues common to each group. With this information the City of San Jose understood the ways in which the assessment process may be applied to deliver benefits for both sectors to support continuous performance improvement.

“QLBS has developed a program using their technology to engage and improve the performances of the San Jose Business commmunities and the Not For Profit Organization. Their software and processes are to the best of our knowledge unique in providing a universal measurement tool that can assist in change management and performance improvement of any organization and community.”

- Jeff Ruster, Deputy Director, Office of Economic Development, City of San Jose
